traditional values - modern thinking
Our Annual Seminar for Charity Trustees and Charity Managers will be held at The Soutar Theatre, A.K. Bell Library, Perth on Wednesday 24th April 2019.
This year we will be covering the new Scottish Governance Code for charities with advice on how to apply the principles of the Code in practical terms.
We are also delighted to be joined by Jenny Simpson, a Partner at Wylie & Bisset, Chartered Accountants and Head of their Specialist Charity Team.
Jenny is a Member of the Charity SORP Committee, the body advising OSCR and the Charity Commission regarding the interpretation of Accounting Rules for Charities and is the Convenor of the Committee’s Working Party for smaller charities.
Jenny will give an update on forthcoming changes to Charity Accounting published by the SORP making body last October as well as talking about areas of financial governance which charities find most challenging including managing reserves, fund accounting and keeping track of restricted funds.
The Seminar will last approximately 90 minutes and, as usual, will provide Trustees with practical guidance and insight into various aspects of their role, actions and responsibilities.
The charge for the Seminar is a nominal £10 a head, with all of the charge going as a charitable donation to the benefit of PKAVS (Scottish Charity Number: SC005561).
It is a case of ‘the more the merrier’ at our Annual Charity Seminar, where we recommend that as many Trustees of a charity try to attend the Seminar together, so that they can speak about it together afterwards.
If you would like to attend, please contact email@example.com to request a Booking Form.
